Faces of Santa Barbara by Patricia Houghton Clarke
PAT W. FARWELL
Born in 1919 in Skagway, Alaska, Pat Farwell is the sprightly, enthusiastic, twinkly-eyed owner of Big Ugly.
He lives near Oak Park and is the (very) proud owner of this converted Studebaker truck, over which he built an extraordinary living space. Complete with wood burning stove, bedroom, and all the amenities one could dream of, Pat has spent many, many happy times cruising the countryside in his home away from home.
A B-24 bomber pilot who flew 83 missions during WWII, this is a man who can reach back into the history of our time and tell tales that never cease to amaze. With a tip of his cap and a huge hello, he is a bright light who brings smiles to those fortunate enough to cross his path.
