I Madonnari Italian Street Painting Festival at the Santa Barbara Mission: XXVI Anniversario

Santa Barbara Photo of the Week by Bill Heller.

This weekend is the I Madonnari Italian street painting festival at the Santa Barbara Mission, which always makes me want to play with chalk on the sidewalk. Since my street painting probably would not compare to some of the amazing works of art at the Mission, I thought I would share a tour of the festivities with those of you who might not be able to make it in person. Throughout the weekend as the festival progresses I’ll be adding more images to this tour to share some of my favorite works of art!

Just check back and look for highlighted links overlaid on the image to move around to other locations.

  1. Full screen and I feel like I was there! To watch since I am not an artist like these amazing people. Thanks Bill!

    • Thanks Bob! Be sure to look closely for the flashing circles in the image now too. You can move around the tour to see other points of view and get a real experience!

Love this event & 3d photo! Definitely feel like I’m there! :-)

  3. There is something new in the image that you might not have noticed. As you look around you should see flashing circles in the image. If you click on them you will be transported to that location to see a different point of view. The white circles are from Saturday afternoon, blue are Sunday. And there will be more to come.

Wow you are awesome! Thanks for the great view around.
All the sites without all the crowds.
Love clicking the blinking circles, that’s amazing.
