After being called out on Santa Barbara View for a number of years, the High Tide Smoke Shop at 336 Anacapa St., is finally getting a face lift! The downtown structure was so dilapidated that tarps, some graffiti-laden, had to be placed over the building.

    The blurb makes it sound like the renovation is 100% attributable to SB View. I suspect there is more to the story.

    Speaking of Santa Barbara boosters, what happened to Matt Mazza at the Sentinel? Did he quit, was he forced out? After being all over the paper from the beginning, he’s suddenly just not there, nothing mentioned about his departure. Maybe some sort of non-disclosure thing.
