This isn’t a traffic calming device, this is a normal corner. Yes, the crosswalk is pulled back, but that is usually for aesthetics and pedestrian control. Furthermore, If you notice, this is facing towards the wrong direction of Chapala, which means those marks are from turning LEFT too sharp, and scraping the curb with the rear driver tire. Incorrect/sharp left turns is a very common thing in SB.
Ada compliant corners will come in handy in the future as I predict a tenfold increase in disabled people. America is really fat, and the new generations of elderly will see an unseen increase in hip, knee and joint failings, among all the ailments that could render someone disabled.
Which intersection is this? With the arrow at the top pointing to the right, it feels reversed to how I think of Chapala. There’s a bulbout at the corner of Gutierrez and Chapala which is definitely poorly designed, imo.

The red curb and purple and yellow flower bulb outs color choices are so stomach churning.
This would be a great complaint if no other curbs got hit either, but they do.
Statistically valid sampling, look into it.
Welcome new troll, Moremoremore! Let me guess…came over here to defend Casa Esperanza, and decided to hurl on a few stories?
Sad when city funded neighborhood improvements only make them look shabbier with chipped paint, skid marks and dead plants.
Don’t even get me started…

West Ortega and West Anapamu got those bilious red, purple and yellow burp-outs. Might be either of them where they meet Chapala.
